When I first noticed this juvenile Brown Creeper, I wasn't sure of what it was. "Hummingbird" came to mind for the bill was the most visible feature, but I knew that wasn't right. I couldn't see it very well as it was a fair distance from where I was standing. I raced inside and grabbed my camera and was so pleased to see that it was still there when I returned, looking around from its bed of moss, soaking up the warmth of the sun. (I've been known to exhibit similar behavior). This was a special treat, for had I not glanced up at just the right moment, I would not have seen this wee bird. I happened to be on a nearby bank that enabled me to see across a ravine to this high maple branch. What fun!
