There are Ruby-crowned Kinglets in abundance where I live and I get to see them frequently. This was a rare treat, however, when I spotted this beautiful little Golden-crowned Kinglet in a Vine Maple just up from my backyard. Such a delicate tiny thing, right in front of me instead of up in the top of the evergreens. Vine Maples are numerous here too, and they're attractive to a wide variety of birds.
I have chosen this painting to represent my solo show at the South Slough Reserve, south of Charleston, OR, September 7 - October 31, 2019. Please visit my Events page for more information.
