Portrait of a Tide Pool

Portrait of a Tide Pool is the first in a body of work I  created based on reference I have collected since I've lived on the Oregon coast.  My husband and I moved to the Elk River, just north of Port Orford, in 1995 and now I live about one hour north of that area.   All the while I have had camera and sketch pad in hand and have had a having a terrific time revisiting some of my favorites.

This painting was awarded Best of Show in the Northwest Pastel Society Online Membership Show, juror Teresa Saia.
